The Blue Gene as CERT is a one rack Blue Gene/L system, featuring 2048 CPU and 1 Terabyte of memory.
This supercomputer ranks 140th on the Top500 list, with 5.7 TFlop/s peak performance and 4.713 TFlop/s Linpack Performance. This is the fastest supercomputer in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia.
The Blue Gene at CERT is the only Blue Gene Supercomputer between Switzerland and Japan.
The Blue Gene is the result of an IBM supercomputing project to build a new family of supercomputers optimized for bandwidth, scalability and the ability to handle large amounts of data in the shortest time, while consuming a fraction of the power and floor space required by today's high performance systems.
Blue Gene is an evolutionary, innovative supercomputer, which reduces “time to solution” for many computational science problems across a variety of disciplines.
CERT Centre for Supercomputing is one of the few international members of the Blue Gene/ L consortium http://www-fp.mcs.anl.gov/bgconsortium/
